Nicole opened Dance Tech Studios in 1995 upon graduation from the University of Utah. She has professionally studied Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap and Lyrical from Judy Bassing, Jo Rowan, Karen Hebert, Janice Barringer, and Chris Grogis throughout New York, the East and West Coasts. Her international credits include MTV lead dancer, Brigham Young University "Young Ambassadors", "Cougarettes" and "Star Search" finalist. Her choreography and performances have won, and continue to win, top state-wide and national awards. Many of her students have received numerous National Dance Title Awards and College Dance Scholarships. In addition, she is a national judge for "KAR Dance Competitions." Ms. Fielding enjoys her title as "Mom" to 2 sons (Tyler-15, and Cole-13) who compete nationally with Dance Tech's DT Crew Hip Hop company. Ms. Fielding is proud to be the director and choreographer of the winning Senior Jazz/Lyrical, Jazzettes and Jr. Jazz Companies. 

 
 

Scott Fielding

Scott is entering his 10th year as Dance Tech's Boys Hip Hop Instructor. He received training in Street Jazz at the Broadway Dance Center in New York and has a collegiate gymnastic background. In addition, he has trained in Hip Hop and Break Dance. He heads up Dance Tech's Little Man Jamm Company and the Teen Boys Break Dance program. Scott's "other" job is owner of Big Canyon Construction Inc. and is currently building Dance Tech's new 15,000 sq. foot, state-of-the-art dance training facility which will be open in May 2009. 

 
 

Jenny Nielson-Wilson

Studio Hip Hop Director

Jenny is the talented director and choreographer of Dance Tech's national award-winning Hip Hop program.  She was one of Dance Tech's first students (over 15 years ago), and was the 1st recipient of Dance Tech Studios "Dancer of The Year" award.  She has trained to professional levels in Hip Hop, Classical Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Contemporary and Modern.  She has trained with Wade Robson, Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, Tyce Diorio and many more of the industry's top choreographers and dancers.  She has danced in numerous New York Dance Alliance Conventions & Tremaine National Dance Conventions.  Jenny was honored to be selected to dance in the 2002 Olympics, as well as in Odyssey Dance Company's production of "Thriller".  This is Jenny's 10th year teaching and choreographing at Dance Tech, and since that time has seen her routines receive numerous first place, choreography and specialty awards as well as overall award titles at prestigious national competitions.

Kristina Wiselog

Instructor

 

This is Kristina's 3rd year teaching at Dance Tech Studios. Kristina is originally from Tracy, California where she began her dance training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop and Tap. She recently graduated from the Ballet program at the University of Utah. Kristina has worked with Dance Masters of America for 8 years where she received the runner-up award for their national title. Kristina has also trained with the Ripon City Ballet, San Francisco Lines Ballet, and the Contra Costa Ballet. She has extensive experience competing at the national level in Jazz, Lyrical and Ballet. Kristina has taught Ballet, Tap, Lyrical and Jazz for the past 5 years at the Academy of Performing Arts in California. We are excited to have her back again this year! 

   
 

Sarah Lovett

Instructor

 

Sarah originally danced with Dance Tech over 10 years ago, and has trained to professional levels in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Modern. Sarah received the Sterling Scholar Dance award in 2002. She has trained with Liz Imperio, Dee Caspary, Wade Robson and many more of the industry's top choreographers and dancers. She has danced in the renowned Pacific Coast Dance Fest, numerous New York Dance Alliance Conventions& Tremaine National Dance conventions. Sarah was honored to dance in the 2002 Olympics as well as being seen on ESPN. Sarah has been in Odyssey's Dance Theater's production of "Thriller" as well as a singer/dancer in "Singing in the Rain" and "The King and I" professional productions. We are privileged to have her work with Dance Tech dancers. 

 
 

Tanaya Wood

Instructor

 

Tanaya is returning to Dance Tech for her 3rd year! She grew up training at the Tueller School of Dance for 18 years in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop. Tanaya earned her education degree from Utah State University. She has attended numerous Hoctor Dance Caravan Workshops throughout the country, competed Nationwide in the U.S.A. camp program, and has choreographed and been a guest teacher for various High Schools throughout Utah.

 
 

Rachel Tidwell

Instructor

 

Rachel returns to Dance Tech for her 3rd year. Rachel is schooled in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern and tumbling. She has trained with Repertory Dance Theatre, Pro Dance, Odyssey and the University of Utah dance department. Rachel was also a Utah Blaze dancer for the 2005-2006 season. Rachel has an extensive teaching and choreography background and has taught all ability levels for the past 6 years at private dance studios and high school dance programs. Her choreography has received top awards at the national level in Jazz, Hip Hop, and Modern. We are glad to have her back again this year! 

 
 

Abbey Tabert

Instructor

 

Abbey returns as a Dance Tech instructor for her 2nd year. She is originally from North Dakota where she trained for 15 years in Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Tap. Abbey traveled and trained with the "Rockette Summer Intensive", "Ballet Pacifica" and "Royal Winnipeg Ballet". She grew up in the dance competition circuit as well, where she earned national top score awards. She also held solo roles in yearly "Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake" ballets. She trained at the University of Montana Modern Department and is currently in the Ballet Department at the University of Utah. 

 
 

Jenessa Cowley

Teen Company Director/Instructor

 

Jenessa returns to Dance Tech for her 2nd year. She grew up in Salt Lake City where she trained extensively in Classical Ballet and Pointe, then added Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Tap. Jenessa frequently trained at National dance conventions/training facilities such as NYCDA, Hollywood Connection, Broadway Dance Center-New York City, and the Edge in LA. Jenessa received numerous scholarships and titles from these conventions. Her choreography is much sought after all over Utah. We are extremely lucky to have Jenessa share her strong technical training and unique choreographic styles with our students. 

 


 

Rachael Picchietti

Jr Hip Hop Company Director/Instructor

 

 

We welcome Rachael to our amazing staff this year! Rachael is originally from the Chicago area where she trained in Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet and Tap from the age of 6. In addition, Rachael competed in gymnastics for 6 years as well as being a key member in multiple national award-winning UCA competitions. Rachael directs and choreographs our Jr. Hip Hop Company.

 
 

Gev Manoukian

Hip Hop/Break Dance Choreographer

 

Gev is a Hip Hop/Break Dancer originally from Kazakhstan and is best known as one of the top 10 finalists on the TV Show "So You Think You Can Dance - Season 4." Gev was also a featured dancer in the movie "High School Musical 2." He has created several top award-winning solos, duos and group dances for Dance Tech this year. We are fortunate to be able to work with such a talented, unique choreographer.

 


 

Shurene Chynoweth

Financial Manager

 

 

Shurene has been an invaluable part of the Dance Tech Family for the past 3 years.  She has a Bachelors Degree in both Accounting and Marketing from the University of Utah and an Associates Degree in Business Management from Salt Lake Community College (SLCC).  She has worked at Skidmore & Olausson CPA firm for 13 years.  She was a member of the SLCC dance team and has a high school dance and cheer background.  She taught dance and aerobics for 2 years at MCD Dance in South Jordan, UT.  Shurene is responsible for accounting, tax and operations management. 

 

 


 

Kelly Capone

Kelly Capone

Public Relations Director

 

Kelly formally joined Dance Tech's staff this year but has been involved behind-the-scenes for years.  She has a Bachelors Degree in Quantitative Business Analysis from Penn State University and worked as a systems analyst for DowBrands, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Electronic Data Systems and Air Products.  She has a high school background in cheering.  Kelly is an amateur photographer and supplies DTS with many of their news release, slideshow and website photos.  She's responsible for Dance Tech's computer operations, spring concert year-end slideshow and Dance Tech's Website.
