Courtney began dancing at age three, and made it a priority in her life from that point forward. At age twelve, she moved to Park City, Utah, where she trained at Dance Tech Studios in contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and ballet en pointe. Her strongest styles are contemporary, jazz, and hip hop, in which she competed with Dance Tech for six years, later became a three-time overall high-point advanced soloist, and was accepted to be a part of Odyssey Dance Theatre's, Thriller. She graduated Park City High School in 2011, and then moved to Salt Lake City to study as a Modern Dance minor and Sociology major at the University of Utah. Outside of school, she is in her second season performing as a core dancer with Underground Crew, a professional all-styles company in Salt Lake City. Since joining Underground, she has expanded her knowledge to include waacking and house, and is always looking to improve her technique and learn new styles. She is grateful that her dance career has created opportunities for her to train with talented people such as Bonnie Story, Eldon Johnson, Chase Wise, and many more, and she continues to pursue the chance to learn from new artists. She loves sharing her passion with those around her, and does so through performing, choreographing, and teaching. Courtney’s biggest passion has always been dance, and she is excited that her dedication to exploring the art has paid off, as her passion has also become her job. She is making the most of her college years, teaching and saving up to ultimately journey to New Zealand and begin a whole new life experience after graduation. Her journey of dance, just like her journey of life, is filled with humbleness and appreciation for the beautiful, devoted, and talented people she mentors, learns from, and works alongside, and she can’t wait to see where that journey takes her.
